Nike Inc, the world's largest shoe company, filed a patent infringement suit against the industry's number two player - German rival Adidas-Salomon yesterday.
Alleging that several Adidas products infringe upon Nike's patented SHOX cushioning technology, which was protected by more than 19 separate patents.
Shoes in question - are some of Adidas's high profile shoes using Adidas's a3 cushioning system:
* Kevin Garnett signature shoe
* Adidas 1 footwear
Rumour has it that it has something to do with the Adidas' recent $3.8 billion take over of Reebok, which significantly narrowed the gap between the world’s top two sporting goods companies.
But then again, what's new, eh? It seems like every few months the federal courts are approached by big players suing each other. In the past, the table turned around where Adidas sued Nike for selling workout pants with two parallel stripes along the seam which were deemed too similar to Adidas’ trademark three-stripe logo.

By the way, watched Brokeback Mountain last night. Not TERRIFIC. But not BAD either.
Was a tad too slow thought. Like my colleague says, the whole movie is just mountains, sheep, mountains, sheep, two guys talking (not much either), mountains, and more sheep.
I'm not sure if I would recommend it, and I'm not sure if I want to watch it again...but I still like it. It's a film of little action, but with a lot of feeling I guess.
