My tongue

Pondered by = Christine =

2010 just began but as I was sitting in my room today, I recalled some of the critical comments that had rolled off my tongue so easily, I felt regret and disappointed.

Perhaps over the years, I had subconsciously fallen into a bad habit of tearing down friendship with my words, not fully realizing the toll it had taken on them. We have the power to build up or tear down relationship every day, merely by the respect we give and the amount of faith we hv in them. Respect and admiration are two of the most powerful tools anyone has. I realized I had fallen short lately in giving those two precious gifts so freely and so willingly.

I prayed, asking the One up abv to help me control and tame my tongue as well as fill my heart and mouth with words that would make others feel appreciated, admired, respected and loved, regardless of whether I felt they deserved it. Help me to break free of the habit to criticize, even when warranted. Open my eyes to the positive and not the negative. It may not be easy but I believe it's achievable. In time.
