Alexander McQueen (1969 - 2010) fantasizes Atlantis as a non existing place - a metaphor for anywhere people find sanctuary in hard times.
The designs themselves bring to mind a futuristic underwater world dominated by reptile patterns and alien features, with shoes that encase feet like armored hooves. The collection is extremely mind captivating and at the same time, mind blowing!!! Although they are not ready daily wear but you hv to give the man for the rare talent to think of such outrageous designs and silhouettes with a tinge of elegance!
I hv only seen his famous lobster claw shoes are all over the news and magazines - in prints. Only today, hv I seen the models gliding down the runway on the otherworldly 12" tall towering stilettos that is just simply breath taking. Respect is due, earned and deserved!
The blw video may be slightly long but I ensure you would never see another collection like this again!
Genius McQueen!!!
