Mothers

Pondered by = Christine =

Hundreds of dewdrops to greet the dawn,
Hundreds of bees in the purple clover,
Hundreds of butterflies on the lawn,
But only one mother the wide world over.
~ George Cooper

You can choose your friends, you can choose your work. You can choose a lot of things in life but some, you just can't. Like mothers.

A younger of me had thought, "How I wish a choice was given." That was the immature me. That was the silly me. That was the ungrateful me.

Years has passed. And I hv realized, even if a choice was given, I would still choose her - she's my mother and I would have no other! Yes, at times - she can drive me crazy, pushed me to the edge, frustrated me into tears. But still, I would not forget more often than not, she has loved me unconditionally, forgive me countlessly and care for me tenderly. The sacrifices a mother make, I can not comprehend. The unconditional love a mother has, I can not understand.

To all the mothers out there, I salute you with utmost respect, especially those in developing nations. No mother should be forced to choose between feeding herself and feeding her child. A child dies every six seconds and that's reality. Help other mothers in this world by sending the ecard from the World Food Programme and I'm sure this will make your Mom proud. =)
