McQueen's death is a shock and a huge loss to the fashion industry. He is indescribably missed, which made it even more special when Tyra Banks and Vogue’s Editor-at-Large Andre Leon Talley have joined forces to pay tribute to McQueen in a very royal way.
The concept is very similar to David LaChapelle's photo (shown blw) of Alexander McQueen and the British magazine editor Isabella Blow (who took her own life in 2007) in front of Hedingham Castle in Essex, England back in 1996.
= Burning Down the House =
McQueen wore a strapless gown and was holding a violently flaming torch while Blow in a characteristically bizarre ensemble and held his train. The castle was burning fiercely and a knight had fallen off his horse in the background. It is an extraordinary image!!
Comparing to this, though I luv Tyra's gesture but the pics are just simply not "McQueen" enough.
